The grant is part of.NTIA’s Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program grant program. CMC grants are given to HBCUs, tribal colleges and universities and minority-serving institutions, the agency said. The University of West Alabama is designated as a minority-serving institution. “This program provides the skills, devices, and connectivity for these colleges and universities that will improve their students’ lives and create jobs in local communities,” Hughes continued.
