Both heroes’ lives have been marked with multiple tragedies, including their origins. Batman watched helplessly as his parents were murdered, and Green Arrow spent years marooned on an island.
Green Arrow #5 is written by Joshua Williamson and drawn by Sean Izaakse, Phil Hester and Ande Parks. Green Arrow is traveling through the multiverse, encountering a futuristic version of himself who informs Ollie he can never see his family again. Green Arrow shoots his future self with an arrow and learns it was actually a robot. The robot talked about the island Ollie was shipwrecked on, and after shooting it, Green Arrow reflects.
Green Arrow Has His Own Fortress of Solitude The key difference between the two is how they approach these locations. For Batman, Crime Alley is a solemn place where the course of his life was established. He goes there only when he has to, which has been often, and each time it gets under his skin. On the other hand, Green Arrow’s island has become a refuge for him, a place where he can recenter himself and be reminded of what is important.
