AFL: The Gold Coast Suns have won with a kick after the siren, courtesy of Mac Andrew. Sinking the Bombers season in the process.

An epic contested mark and clutch post-siren goal from Mac Andrew has helped Gold Coast deliver a memorable first away victory of the season,

After taking a spectacular pack mark with 20 seconds left, Andrew made Essendon pay the heftiest of prices, calmly slotting a set-shot goal – his fourth for the game. “I was a bit nervous. It’s something every kid dreams of,” Andrew told Fox Footy post-game of his mindset prior to his kick.“I was looking at Noah and thought about his game and thought ‘that’d be a good feeling’.“I thought it was going for the post and I was like ‘argh’! Then it curled back. It was an unreal feeling.”

“He must realise that this is highway robbery, but you take the away win however you can get it,” Fox Footy commentator Jason Dunstall said post-match.“It’s a good win for the boys. Obviously we’re out of finals contention, but we’re still playing for a lot of pride and playing for a winning season for the first time ever. This is definitely a big step towards it,” Andrew said.“I certainly didn’t. It’s good to get a win down here.
