"The president contacted me and asked for a point of contact between the Australian government and the U.S. Attorney, which I was happy to do on the basis that it was something we had already committed to do," Morrison said.The New York Times reported that in the phone call, Trump asked Morrison to assist U.S. Attorney General William Barr with the U.S.
Morrison said the United States was Australia's most significant ally and they shared a lot of information, and it would have been quite extraordinary to deny the request.
