Leanne Lucas was one of a group of teachers who shielded the children from the knifeman
The family and friends of yoga instructor Leanne Lucas - who was seriously injured as she shielded children from a 'knifeman' at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class she ran in Southport - have given a heartrending update following the attack.
Lucas, a former primary school teacher, was left critically injured and had to undergo life-saving surgery for severe stab wounds, reports The Mirror.Earlier in the month, following her discharge from hospital, there was hope for Leanne's recovery despite warnings that she was "not out of the woods yet". In a new update, her loved ones announced the injured yoga instructor had been admitted back to the hospital.
Adding to the sombre news, the message continued: "Leanne had barely begun her road to recovery. Please keep her in your thoughts and continue supporting her as you have been by sharing the page and donating anything you can. Thank you all from the Lucas family and friends." In light of the events, a fundraising campaign has been set up for Heidi, hailed for her "incredible bravery" in securing the children's safety by locking them in a toilet. A close friend of the dance instructor shared: "I am reaching out to raise funds for my beautiful friend Heidi, who, on July 29 was the dance teacher involved in the tragic attack in Southport."
