Two suspects are being sought following a hit-and-run collision that killed a pregnant woman in South San Jose Tuesday night.
SAN JOSE â San Jose Police said officers were called to a major injury collision in the area of Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard shortly after 8:40 p.m.According to a preliminary investigation, the woman was traveling eastbound on Blossom Hill Road in a 2008 black Nissan sedan when she was struck by a driver in a 2013 white Hyundai that was traveling southbound on Winfield Boulevard. Two people inside the Hyundai fled the scene on foot after the collision, police said.
The woman was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where she was pronounced deceased. Her child was delivered successfully but remains in critical condition Wednesday, police said.The victim's name is being withheld pending confirmation and notifying next of kin. Police said the woman is the 43rd traffic death in San Jose this year.Officers did not provide additional details about the suspects.
