Dispatch.com readers selected winners for the Columbus area Athlete of the Week for the competition period prior to May 8.

The winner is Upper Arlington track and field athlete Gavin Zember-Stiffler.

Zember-Stiffler set a personal record of 13 feet in the pole vault in the Larkin & Crosten Classic. He has cleared 12-6 three times this season. He also threw the discus 91-8 earlier this season. Zember-Stiffler received 67.6% of the vote and was followed by Dublin Jerome baseball player Brayden Krenzel, who got 22.9% of the vote, West Jefferson softball player Brooke Mannon , Licking Valley track and field athlete Reagan Campbell and Olentangy Berlin tennis player Jackson McKnight .Krenzel, the runner-up, recorded a program-record 15 strikeouts in an 8-1 win over Thomas Worthington. He allowed two hits in the complete-game effort.

Mannon pitched a perfect game, striking out 18 in a 2-0 win over West Liberty-Salem. She is 14-0 this season with a 0.17 ERA and almost 200 strikeouts.
