In a post on social media, the chain, which first opened in 2022, said the Redfern store would open in a few weeks.
It said the suburb in Sydney’s inner south was chosen so that the company could work towards helping Indigenous communities.“We are proud to be teaming up with some incredible charities and brand partners who are creating opportunity for the Aboriginal people,” Mr. Charlie’s said. “Mr. Charlie’s is more than a vegan burger joint, it’s an energy wave on a mission to restore a loving connection to serving this planet and her people through food and service.Mr. Charlie’s opened its first store in the US in 2022.Mr. Charlie’s has been dubbed the vegan version of McDonald’s by many on social media.On its website, Mr. Charlie’s said its mission was to “redefine fast food” and to offer more sustainable choices.
The chain has taken social media by storm, with many TikTokers flocking to one of its three locations in the US to review the food. In 2022, pop star Lizzo posted a video on TikTok of the About Damn Time singer trying Mr. Charlie’s. The clip quickly went viral, amassing over four million views.
