A US drone strike blew up a vehicle carrying 'a substantial amount of explosive material' from Afghanistan's Islamic State affiliate heading to Kabul Airport, with reports a child was killed in the blast.
The United States carried out a second drone strike against ISIS-K suicide bombers in Afghanistan on Sunday, targeting a car carrying"multiple suicide bombers".
He said authorities continued"assessing the possibilities of civilian casualties, though we have no indications at this time". "We are confident we successfully hit the target. Significant secondary explosions from the vehicle indicated the pressure of a substantial amount of explosive material." Witnesses reported a large blast shaking the neighbourhood north of Kabul's Airport as clouds of black smoke leached the air.
