The United States embassy in Kyiv will resume operations after a temporary pause following threats from Russia of a “particularly massive” rocket attack on Ukraine’s capital.
The United States embassy in Kyiv has reopened after temporarily shutting its doors over a threat by Moscow of a “particularly massive” rocket strike following Ukraine ’s use of an American long-range missile.
Footage has since emerged on Telegram which appeared to show Ukraine launching US-supplied long-range ATACMS rockets into Russia, days after President Joe Biden gave the green light to use the missiles. Picture: Telegram Washington said it was “unfortunately not surprised” by the Kremlin’s decision, adding it would not adjust its own nuclear posture as a response.
According to the New York Times, the US embassy said it “received specific information” of an imminent attack, with Ukraine authorities urging people to seek shelter.
