His comments come after Vice-President Kamala Harris said the White House was not expecting the Omicron variant He said Mr Biden would be urging those who have not been vaccinated to get their shot, as the government prepares for a rise in infectious over the holiday period. Dr Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, tried to defend the president's earlier promise in a separate interview on CNN's, State of the Union.
