A man is to be extradited from the US over the suspected murder of a Thai national Wachria "Mario" Phetmang, whose body was found bound and gagged on the side of a Sydney road.
Mr Phetmang, 33, was last seen alive on May 25 at a South Hurstville service station on May 25 last year. His body was found bound, gagged, wrapped in plastic and covered in a mattress protector on the side of Homebush Bay Drive on June 6.Australian authorities issued an arrest warrant for Alex Dion over Mr Phetmang's death, according to a federal search warrant filed by the FBI on Friday, The Associated Press reports.
Dion, who was already in custody in San Diego on a domestic violence charge, is expected to be extradited to Australia on Friday.
