Sky News US Correspondent Annelise Nielsen says the United States midterm elections “should have been a slam dunk” for the Republicans.
“We’re seeing the numbers are coming through in Arizona at the moment – the governor’s race there isn’t going in their favour, the Senate race isn’t going in their favour,” Ms Nielsen told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.“And looks like we’re heading towards a run-off in Georgia.
“So this has been a very bad day for the Republicans and it’s going to likely trigger a lot of soul-searching for them.”
