More Americans could be lining up to the receive the Pfizer jab after the FDA on Monday extended its emergency use to approve the jab for children as young as 12.
A CDC advisory committee will issue recommendations for distributing the vaccine – with an announcement expected on Wednesday – and if given the green light it could start being administered as early as Thursday.
Health experts said expanding the eligibility criteria of the vaccine to include children could be key in achieving herd immunity. Pfizer and Moderna already started testing their vaccine on children as young as six months.
