A former Australian tennis player turned analyst has accused an American radio sports personality of 'sexism' after he labelled her Paris Games commentary performance as 'horrific' and repeatedly told her to 'shut up'.

Former tennis pro Rennae Stubbs hits back at US sports radio personality Chris Russo after 'horrific' commentary in Rafael Nadal v Novak Djokovic Olympic match

However, his viewing experience was supposedly ruined by Australian commentator Rennae Stubbs - who was analysing the match for Peacock, an NBC streaming service - saying it was an"atrocious performance" and she"never shut up" during play. "If I’m up making the commitment to watch these two on Peacock on Monday morning at a quarter to 8, I’m into it. I don’t need her every single point. She was awful.”

Stubbs - a former No.1 doubles player who has 60 titles to her name - hit back at Russo on X, formerly Twitter, claiming it was"sexism at its best". Supporters online backed the Australian for her"terrific job", with one noting she was simply explaining the rivalry between Nadal and Djokovic for those who usually do not watch tennis and had tuned in to the match because it was the Olympics.
