The US government is preparing to evacuate Americans from the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship.
The Wall Street Journal has reported about 380 Americans stranded on the vessel will be offered seats on two planes - organised by the U-S state department.
Lawmakers have been pressuring the Trump administration to commit to the rescue mission so affected passengers can finish their quarantine in the United States. A team of health officials have been sent to evaluate the situation on board the cruise ship. Image: AP
