Former deputy prime minister Damian Green said he would be watching for the details closely when the final decision is announced to the Commons after the NSC's meeting on Tuesday, London time."I want to see an early date after which no Huawei kit can be added to a network," Green said."I am less concerned about a so-called rip-out date for existing Huawei kit, as I think that once we have the first date its use will wither away," he said.
, welcomed Johnson's likely about-turn but said the green light should never have been given to Huawei in the first place."However, if it had only listened to its allies in America and Australia in January it could have arrived at this decision without straining our closest allegiances."
