Australians have a chance to change their lives this Easter long weekend, with a $1.4 billion lotto jackpot up for grabs. Players can try their luck in the USA Power Lotto Easter Sunday $1.4 billion draw by entering through The Lottery Office. But hop to it, entries close at 12 noon on Sunday . An Australian man came within one number of taking the jackpot prize in the $1.7 billion US Mega Millions draw on Wednesday.

US Powerball draws take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.59pm US eastern time — which means for Australians the draws are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1.59pm AEDT. Each game costs $7, and players pick five numbers from a pool of one to 69, plus another number between one and 26. Overall, the chances of winning a prize are one in 25 per game, according to The Lottery Office. The odds of winning the jackpot are much slimmer, at one in 292.2 million, US Powerball says.
