Utah Gov. Cox signed a bill into law banning abortion clinics in the state. Abortion clinics will have to close by the end of the year or when their license expires, whichever comes first.

Lawmakers advanced a measure to limit where people can get abortions in Utah, banning abortion clinics and effectively requiring they only be provided in hospitals with few exceptions. After passing through the state Senate, it heads to the desk of Gov. Spencer Cox, an anti-abortion Republican who expressed support last month.Currently, Utah bans abortion after 18 weeks.
The governor's office referred ABC News to Cox's press conference on PBS Thursday when reached for comment."Thank you, Governor Cox for signing this bill into law!" the group said in aHowever, abortion rights advocates, slammed the bill and said it basically eliminates access in the state.
