The director and filmmaker Charlie Minn denied he was exploiting violence and said he was surprised and angered by the reaction. About halfway through, the film begins profiling the victims with pictures and parental interviews. It discusses the police response, using body camera footage that cuts out the children’s screams but not the gunshots. It discusses the trauma faced by survivors and ends with the rest of the victim profiles.
“If the general consensus of the families is they don’t want it shown, that will be the biggest part of the decision-making,” he said.
