The number of Victorians taking up vaping has almost doubled in the last three years with new data from the Cancer Council Victoria revealing one in four current e-cigarette users never smoked prior to vaping.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers says vaping is a real concern for the budget and has flagged potential funding to mitigate the upward trend in smokers.
Advocacy groups are pleading for the federal government to follow through on legislation set up under the former Morrison government.
