Vehicle fire on M77 near Glasgow as police rush to scene of incident

An image shared by Traffic Scotland also shows major build up in the area, with traffic at a standstill following the fire. A statement from the organisation reads: "The Southbound carriageway is currently CLOSED between Junction 5 and 6 due to a vehicle fire Police in attendance. Use our Route Checker to plan an alt route; traffic already building in the area."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a vehicle on fire on the A77 at junction 6 around 6.50pm on Monday, 17 July, 2023.
