The Bureau of Meteorology also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of outer Melbourne on Monday afternoon, saying there was a risk of heavy rain, large hailstones and damaging winds. “The combination of high temperatures and that humid air mass means that conditions are ripe for some quite big thunderstorms across today.”
