Gary Mayor Jerome Prince said during the news conference that he’d visited Fazekas shortly after the shooting and is “relieved to say he is doing well.” Police cars block off the street near the location where Gary Police Sgt. are parked near the location where Gary Police Sgt. William Fazekas was shot Monday, February 7, 2022.
Fazekas joined the Gary Police Department in 1989 and is most recently assigned to its Violent Crimes unit, Evans said.
