Vets have inspected Geelong Cup winner Onesmoothoperator on Saturday morning, and ruled out a Kiwi invader.
Chris Waller looks likely to have a quarter of the Melbourne Cup field on Tuesday after Racing Victoria vets pulled Kiwi galloper Mahrajaan out of the race on Saturday morning.
Mahrajaan, trained by Kiwi duo Shaune Ritchie and Colm Murray, won this year’s group 2 Auckland Cup but finished 13th of 15 in the group 2 Herbert Power last month. The connections of Geelong Cup winner Onesmoothoperator breathed a sigh relief on Saturday morning after vets cleared their horse to run in Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.Advertisement
