Dominik Szoboszlai has explained the role he played in Mohamed Salah's game-changing penalty against Everton in Saturday's Merseyside derby victory. Salah scored his sixth and seventh goals of the Premier League campaign late in the second half as Liverpool continued their impressive start to the campaign by claiming all three points in the 243rd Merseyside derby.
Speaking after the game, the Hungarian midfielder explained the role he played in Salah's penalty success. “To be honest I saw it from behind so I was probably 95% sure that it was going to be a penalty,” Szoboszlai told LFCTV. “I just held the ball so nobody took it and stood there to protect the penalty spot. Yeah, we are a team.” Asked about his first experience of an Anfield Merseyside derby, Szoboszlai added: "It feels really good.
