Victoria has announced its latest daily COVID case numbers as the Andrews government considers additional measures to boost the state's vaccine rollout.
The state's Department of Health confirmed the latest figure on Saturday morning, revealing 49 are linked to known outbreaks and 28 were in the community during their infectious period. It comes after Victoria reported 79 new local infections on Friday with an alarming number - 26 - of mystery cases.
Victoria is hoping to boost vaccination numbers by up to 120,000 additional doses administered per week. Victoria is expected to reach the 80 per cent one dose threshold by October 15, and the 80 per cent double dose target by November 17. The state is also tipped to hit the 80 per cent first dose threshold by September 10 and 80 per cent double dosed by November 4.
