Queensland health authorities are investigating after a COVID-19 positive case entered the state from Victoria.
“This lady travelled with her partner, leaving Melbourne on the first of June, arriving in Queensland on the fifth of June, and she travelled up through NSW and crossed the border at Goondiwindi,” Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said. Results from the other five close contacts, who are quarantining at home, have not yet been returned.Staffing levels in Victoria’s maternity services have been left so depleted by COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts, midwives fear for the safety of mothers and babies.
