Australia's first drive-thru vaccination clinic will open at a former Bunnings Warehouse in Melbourne, with the capacity to vaccinate 10,000 per week.
Premier David Andrews made the announcement as the state recorded 11 new locally acquired cases during the state's sixth lockdown.
Naomi Bromley, deputy secretary of COVID-19 vaccinations made the announcement as the state recorded 1.7 million vaccinations across 50 open access clinics. The first drive-thru vaccination site launched today at a former Bunnings Warehouse in Melton and is invite-only until tomorrow.The drive-thru clinic will start with 10 cars at a time with those vaccinated required to wait in their cars after they receive the jab for 15 minutes before moving on.
The new vaccination clinic will have the capacity to vaccinate 10,000 per week but Ms Bromley said it had the capacity to grow.
