Victoria has recorded 11 new coronavirus cases and no deaths as authorities keep a close eye on an outbreak at a major Melbourne shopping centre.

This average needs to drop to five cases or less with no more than five mystery cases during the same period for further restrictions to be eased on 19 October.

But 31 cases have now been linked to a butcher shop at Chadstone Shopping Centre, causing concern for health authorities. Two people in Kilmore, located 60km north of Melbourne, have also tested positive to COVID-19 after a case connected to the outbreak dined at the suburb's Oddfellows Cafe. The health department wants anyone who visited the cafe during the period to get tested even if they don't have symptoms.

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your jurisdiction's restrictions on gathering limits. If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, stay home and arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.
