BREAKING: Victoria has recorded 45 new locally acquired Covid-19 cases on Wednesday as young people again crashed the vaccine website as they rush to book a Pfizer jab.

The state’s health department announced the new local cases about 8.45am, which included another nine mystery infections.But alarmingly, only 17 cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period, meaning 19 were out in the community.

It comes as the Pfizer vaccine was made available to Victorians aged 16 to 39 years old from 7am on Wednesday.Premier Daniel Andrews revealed Victorians in that age bracket would be able to book a Pfizer jab from 7am on Wednesday at the state-run vaccination centres. The Victorian government's Covid-19 vaccine booking website crashed again on Wednesday morning after Victorians aged 16 and older became eligible for Pfizer jab.
