Victoria reports 51 new coronavirus infections overnight and a further seven deaths.
Regional Victoria could potentially be eased out of restrictions faster than expected if its cases keep dropping at the current rate, Premier Daniel Andrews hinted yesterday.
"[Regional Victorians] are playing their part to keep the numbers low so we can meet those trigger points and be able to not simply take one step, but potentially two steps in regional Victoria to open regional Victoria up," he said. "That is not for today. There will need to be further days elapse for us to get to that point — but the numbers are encouraging."
, and record zero "mystery" cases with an unknown source for two weeks, in order progress to the third step of the roadmap.
