Victoria’s Chief Commissioner has responded to bombshell whistleblower claims that police obstructed the red shirts rort inquiry and weighed in on whether the state's corruption watchdog should investigate the matter further.

The explosive allegations were made by the whistleblower in a statement referred to the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission .

The misuse of public funds - which Labor later repaid - seemingly helped the party win government in the 2014 election.The whistleblower statement follows revelations aired in February and earlier in November referring the matter to police before it ultimately landed with the Ombudsman. The subsequent report also cleared Mr Andrews of allegedly facilitating the scheme with Ms Glass determining there was “no evidence” to implicate the Premier.
