BREAKING: Daniel Andrews has dropped his biggest clue yet about the fate of Melbourne’s dreaded lockdown, and it’s not good news.

While announcing a further 14 infections and no new deaths on Saturday, Daniel Andrews warned Victorians he would not sign off on “what’s popular”.

“We will take steps next Sunday, and will spend an enormous amount of time this weekend and throughout the week determining exactly what those next steps can be. “That will set us back, that will see all that has been given by Victorians across our state frittered away and count for nothing.” The city’s all-important 14-day virus average increased by 0.1 to 9.5 on Saturday, and is still hovering too far above the safe threshold.
