Marciano Alvarez's cake shop in Melbourne was listed as a COVID-19 exposure site earlier this month, but he's adamant an infected person could not have visited at the specified time because the store wasn't open.

Workers making calls to assist with Victoria's contact tracing efforts have told the ABC the system is still below par, and that contacts are being given wrong and potentially dangerous information about when it is safe to leave quarantine.

The workers told the ABC that while the new program they were using had a better interface, there was less background information about cases and more incorrect data. "A lot of people are frustrated. They're trying to do the right thing but they can't believe how badly it's been managed.
