BREAKING: A firefighter has died while battling bushfires in Victoria's alpine region. 9News
The State Control Centre of Victoria confirmed a fatality had occurred while the firefighter, who was employed by Parks Victoria, was working to contain the fire.
"It is with great sadness that we confirm that a Forest Fire Management Firefighter from Parks Victoria has been involved in an incident while working on a fire in the Omeo area resulting in a fatality," said a spokesperson from the SCC confirmed to 9News.
