Premier Daniel Andrews has announced a $250 million Power Saving Bonus package which could help Victorian households save up to $580 a year on power bills.

From 1 July 2022, the new Power Saving Bonus $250 payment will be open to all Victorian households who use the Victorian Energy Compare website to compare their energy deal and seek out a better price.

The Premier spruiked the investment saying it would help Victorians get the most out of the “big power companies” who he admitted played off people not having the time or understanding of how to get a better deal.“But they do, I think, often trade off the fact that people are very busy and don’t have the time to shop around.
