The Victorian Liberal Party has elected a fresh new leadership team following its devastating defeat to Daniel Andrews' Labor Government in the November election.
Mr Pesutto conquered his fellow leadership aspirant to gain the party’s top job after four years in the political wilderness following a shock defeat in the 2018 election.

Offer ends 31 October, 2023 “It means a lot to be given this opportunity by our colleagues to do the best we can by our party but more importantly do the best we can by the people of Victoria,” the triumphant new leader said.
Former leader Matthew Guy announced he would step down from the state leadership the day after the election which saw the Liberal Party make no net gains. Mr Battin emerged as the significant challenger after Mr Riordan, a senior regional MP and Mr Smith dropped out of the race and threw their support behind the former shadow police minister.
