Victoria’s major parties are on track for a thumping at the November state election, as new analysis points to the growing influence of minor parties.
The Greens, teal independents, and the newly established Victorians Party are all on track to pick up between nine to 13 seats from the major parties. According to an analysis in the Herald Sun, three seats in Melbourne’s outer west and north, including Werribee, Melton and Point Cook, are on track to be picked up by the Victorians Party as well as Broadmeadows and Kororoit.
The Greens are predicted to gain the seats of Richmond and Albert Park, while the independent teal candidates, if they decide to run in the November state election, could pick up Hawthorn, Brighton, Caulfield, Kew and Sandringham.
