A crash in the state's east has left one woman dead and two passengers hospitalised after a car veered off a country road and into a creek.

Two passengers in the car, a female teenager and a man believed to be in his 20s, were taken to hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries. The circumstances around the crash have not yet been established, and police have not yet formally identified the driver.It brings the Victorian road toll in 2023 to 143, compared with 104 lives lost by this time last year.
Ahead of the long weekend, police urged drivers to act with caution over the long weekend, highlighting thatAn 18-year-old had a lucky escape on Friday night after driving off a cliff at Mirimbah, near Mount Buller, shortly before 11pm. Authorities said a Warrnambool man was driving along Mount Buller Road when his Holden Trailblazer left the road, falling three metres into bushland below.The vehicle rolled and collided with trees, which stopped the car from rolling further down the mountain.
