Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein has announced Victorians will not be able to enter Tasmania from midnight tonight unless they have an exemption letter.

"Tasmanians who've spent time in Victoria in the 14 days prior to travel will be required to quarantine in one of our Government hotels," he said.Mr Gutwein said while Victorians can apply for a compassionate exemption to travel to Tasmania, it was unlikely to be granted in the short-term.
