'They will come to you and hurt y'all': Watch feral hogs roaming a Southeast Side neighborhood
When the person filming the video approaches the hogs in the Peach Grove neighborhood, they scamper, but not too far. The hogs continue to root around in the yard as dogs bark in the background along the quiet cul-de-sac.
In response to the video, area residents reported numerous sightings of feral hogs along Southcross Boulevard, a major road that runs through many South Side neighborhoods. "There are five of them about that size and they were with their mama right next to the medical rehab on Southcross last week," Robert Gunn, a Highland Hills resident, wrote in a comment on the post."The mama is probably close to 350 pounds."
Andrew Treviño, another Peach Grove resident, wrote that the hogs were originally spotted by Salado Creek, but recent development in the area has forced the animals to roam the streets. Residents in San Antonio and other parts of Texas have dealt withWendy Hernandez, a Pecan Valley resident, wrote that hogs appear to live in the old golf course near Pecan Valley Golf Club and said she has seen a"whole family" walking around at night, including about 14 hogs.
"They're very wild and some are very mean, especially when the babies are around, the mom and dad will charge at you so be very careful," Hernandez wrote in a comment."They're moving anywhere they can go including toward the neighborhoods so be careful."
