Police have descended on central Alice Springs after a major brawl broke out in a prominent thoroughfare as the nighttime curfew could be extended.
A massive brawl has broken out in the centre of Alice Springs prompting a major police operation ahead of the final night of the town’s curfew.
But while adults and children are prevented from entering Alice’s town centre between 10pm and 6am, it has not stopped violence breaking out during the day. About 50 people, both adults and teens assembled in the Coles carpark with multiple spot fires breaking out, SkyNews.com.au understands. He explained, during the last snap curfew in March there were typically multiple groups of four officers patrolling the streets in the day.
Police Minister Brent Potter said the decision would not be made until Thursday, according to the ABC.
