Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been subject to criticism over the last few months but the tide is turning
Former Liverpool midfielder Boudewijn Zenden has issued a firm defence of Virgil van Dijk following criticism for some of his performances.
However, in recent seasons, the centre-back’s form has suffered as he has tried to meet the expectations that he set prior to the serious knee injury he picked up against Everton in October 2020. As a result, the Netherlands international has been a target for frequent criticism.
