The scheme will use digital devices so carers can video call individuals in their homes to provide reminders, advice and support. It aims to reduce the need for face-to-face care and improve the wellbeing of people using the service. Shropshire Councillor Cecilia Motley said the scheme would prevent the need for more urgent care and let residents live independently.
The service would be a "welcome reassurance for people who need a low level of care at home or would like to have other options", she added.The funding will help Shropshire Council to care for individuals in rural locations by using specialist technology, the authority said.
