Shropshire Councillor Cecilia Motley said the scheme would prevent the need for more urgent care and let residents live independently.

The service would be a "welcome reassurance for people who need a low level of care at home or would like to have other options", she added.The funding will help Shropshire Council to care for individuals in rural locations by using specialist technology, the authority said.
