It was here at Mountain Sky that I discovered a bucket list item I never even knew I had—cattle penning.
Certainly not something you’d think about if you live in a big city tucked into the embrace of cars, pollution, noise, and humanity. But, under the big cerulean skies of Montana on the back of a smart horse competing with a team of fellow guests–well, then you think about it.The ranch rests in a fold of mountains at about 5,700 feet in elevation with pretty views of Emigrant Peak and endless acres to explore. A trout pond is on-site for those wishing to improve their angling skills.
It feels at times like your personal course, and guests are welcome to use the complimentary Callaway golf clubs and golf carts.Just to keep myself honest I quizzed many guests about their experiences . Reactions ranged from astonishment at the world-class golf amidst breathtaking views to respect for the strength of the riding program. One woman delighted in the fact that as a non-horse person she was able to participate in a two-hour ride through stunning back country.
