Netball: Diamond Donnell Wallam is without a Super Netball club for 2025 after confirmation the Queensland Firebirds wont be offering the star shooter a new deal.

Firebirds star not offered 2025 contract | 00:42The Melbourne Vixens survived a stunning West Coast Fever fightback to book their place in the Super Netball grand final with a nail-biting one-goal victory on Saturday.

Coach Dan Ryan conceded players were left “feeling the pain” after falling just short in back-to-back years. “While it’s agonizingly gutting to miss out on a grand final spot by one goal again… if this stuff doesn’t harden you or inspire you or drive you to find those incremental improvements in how you operate, how you perform, how you stand up, nothing ever will.”

Fowler-Nembhard, the most prolific shooter in the competition, let a pass burst through her fingers, fumbled another and missed two super shots in a chaotic seven minutes of play that the Fever could not recover from.Vixens’ star shooters Kiera Austin and Sophie Garbin cashed in on the change of tide to take a five-goal lead into the final break and extend that advantage to 12 during the last quarter.

“This time last week, it seemed a long way away from getting into a grand final,” she told Fox Netball.“The belief and confidence was always there.
