The Kremlin and the White House have exchanged fiery remarks with President JoeBiden declaring Vladimir Putin “in trouble” and “dangerous” ahead of a critical nuclear arms summit in Geneva.
In a speech to the US Intelligence Community on Wednesday, Mr Biden said the United States could enter a “real shooting war” with a major power over increasing cyber-attacks.
But again on the day before US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman was due to meet with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, Mr Putin delivered another pointed comment to the Kremlin. Mr Biden on Wednesday said Putin was sitting on an economy of"nuclear weapons and oil fields, that's it". Picture: Getty
“ can hardly be called a partner,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists in Moscow on Thursday. The diplomatic tit-for-tat came either side of the discussions in Geneva between senior Russian and American foreign policy officials.
