No campaigner Nyunggai Warren Mundine has issued a final pitch to voters, calling for them to reject the Voice to parliament. Speaking on Today this morning, Mundine said he’s feeling “comfortable” ahead of the results of “one of the most important referendums we are having in the history of Australia”. “This whole referendum is a referendum we didn’t need to have.
“What we should be doing is not spending the hundreds of millions of dollars that we’re spending on this referendum, that should have been going out into the Aboriginal communities that are struggling and the money should have been spent on education and health and all those other things that we are fighting for. Regardless of the outcome tonight, he says Australia must “come together as a nation” after a tough campaign.
