Volvo will soon be the 1st automaker to offer post-crash connected service

“It’s basically an end-to-end experience to guide you through all those moments right after the accident happens,” said Marc Fredman, Head of Strategy at CCC, in an interview. “It really guides you through every single step you need to do--which pictures should you take, how do you take notes at the accident, what you should do with your car.” The driver can immediately send the information to the insurance company and file a claim, as well as book an appointment with a certified repair shop.

CCC Accident Advisor will be offered on Volvo models, 2015 and newer to guide drivers through steps to follow after an accident.Because we already have integrations with insurance companies, repair shops etc, we can put that experience together so that in a few clicks you can take the pictures you need, you can take the notes that you need, you can notify your insurance company, book a repair shop, and that can all happen literally in minutes,” explained Fredman.

Doering said the company is still considering the idea of re-branding Accident Advisor to more closely identify it with Volvo and is “kicking around” some names. The plan is to roll it out to the public fairly soon, but the company is taking a “measured approach,” said Doering. Part of that approach, he said, will be to couple Accident Advisor, or whatever name the company markets it under, with a program called “Tow For Life.

While Volvo is the first automaker to adopt Accident Advisor, CCC’s Marc Fredman says its exclusivity won’t last long. “
